Flag Status Alert: Lowering of the Maryland State Flag
This is to advise that Governor Larry Hogan has ordered the Maryland State Flag lowered to half-staff effective immediately and returned to full-staff at sunset on the day of interment (date unknown). This action is in honor of FBI Supervisory Special Agent, Carlos Wolff, who passed away on December 8, 2017, resulting from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

This is to advise that Governor Larry Hogan has ordered the Maryland State Flag lowered to half-staff effective immediately and returned to full-staff at sunset on the day of interment (date unknown). This action is in honor of Deputy Chief Fire Marshal Sander B. Cohen, who died in the line of duty on December 8, 2017

Flag Status Alert: United States Flag and Maryland Flag Are at Half-Staff
President Donald J. Trump has ordered the United States Flag to be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset, Thursday, December 7, 2017 in honor of National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. This action commemorates the bravery and sacrifice of those that fought and died on December 7, 1941 in the attack on Pearl Harbor. As a matter of protocol, the Maryland flag is lowered to half-staff. No flag may fly higher than the United States flag.

This is to advise you that the Maryland State Flag shall be raised to full staff at sunset, Wednesday, November 29, 2017, the day of interment for Det. Sean Suiter of the Baltimore Police Department, who died in the line of duty on November 16, 2017.

Flag Status Alert: United States Flag and Maryland Flag Are at Half-Staff
As a mark of respect for the victims of the senseless act of violence perpetrated on November 5, 2017 in Sutherland Springs, Texas, President Donald J. Trump has ordered that the flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff effective IMMEDIATELY until sunset, Thursday, November 9, 2017. As a matter of protocol, the Maryland flag is lowered to half-staff as well, no flag may be higher than the United States flag.
 
This action is taken under the Protocol for the United States and Maryland State Flag.  Any questions on the above should be directed to the Office of the Secretary of State.

Lowering and Raising of the United States Flag and Maryland State Flag
This is to advise you that Governor Larry Hogan has ordered the United States Flag and Maryland State Flag flown at half-staff on Tuesday, October 10th, 2017, from sunrise to sunset. This is in memory U.S. Navy Information Systems Technician 2nd Class Timothy T. Eckels, Jr., of Manchester, Maryland, who died on August 21, 2017, while serving aboard the USS John McCain.
This action is taken under the Protocol for the United States and Maryland State Flag. Any questions on the above should be directed to the Office of the Secretary of State.
